View Full Version : Lack of Winning Streaks

A caller to J. Hood on the Score last night made what I thought was a fairly intriuging point as he noted that this current Sox team of the last few years seems unable to put together any sort of real hot streak. The caller noted that since the glorious stretch in June 2000 it seems as if we have never been able to win more than maybe 4-5 games in a row and have never put on any sort of major stretch where we won, say, 20 out of 25 (although I wonder if we might have come close to this at some point in 2001 when we were climbing out of the abyss we had dug for ourselves).

This seems to pretty much reflect what has been the case. One wonders why this seems to be the case--inconsistent pitching? JM's constant tinkering? Faulty defense? Our feast-or-famine hitting? A general lack of cajones? Or, all of the above?
