Hard to believe

In 1930 the sox Bud Clancy plays a full 9 innings at 1st base without a putout or assist.

Has that happened before/since? That sounds really odd. How would that happen? Lot's of walks and flyouts?

The small article I read didn't give any info on the game. Also, 2 other 1st basemen "accomplished" this, no names or dates were listed.
