View Full Version : Ray Ray the Toy Cannon

The talk about letting Canseco go to give somebody else some extra at-bats got me thinking about Durham's situation. He was given some chances batting #3 earlier this year and started talking about how much he liked it.

If Manuel ever allows Ray Durham to bat #3 again, he ought to be put in front of Sox Fans' firing squad. That's a good example of how experimenting can be detrimental to a ballplayer's game. Ray needs to forget about being a 5' 7" power hitter.

If the Sox are looking for a #3 hitter, they can do a lot better than a toy cannon whose pop flies usually land short of the warning track.

Jimmy Wynn he ain't.

I really wish Ray had never seen the "Chicks dig the long ball" commercial.

I like the toy cannon idea. A toy cannon is just as mobile as Ray is & the ball will actually get to the outfield instead of going back & forth between the pitcher & catcher 3 times,

We both know that is not going to happen anytime soon.
