The Warthogs lost last night in Wilmington, Delaware. Kris Honel took the loss, his record is now 2 - 2. He gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings. The bullpen didn't fare any better. Warthogs’ relievers Rolando Garza and Aaron Kirkland gave up five runs on five hits including three doubles. The Warthogs have lost three games in a row for the first time this season. They still lead the Kinston Indians by two games in the Southern Division of the Carolina League. The Blue Rocks have won six of their last seven.

Kannapolis beat the Augusta Green Jackets last night, 9 - 6. Brian Miller and Todd Deininger were the pitchers for the K-Sox.
Darren Ciraco (3-4, RBI) broke a 3-3 tie in the third, scoring on an RBI ground out to third by Charlie Lisk. Kannapolis (10-10) scored four runs in the inning jumping out to a 7-3 lead.

Birmingham swept their doubleheader against Orlando. Game one: Corwin Malone was solid until the 7th when he gave up 4 runs on 4 hits. Jeff Bajenaru came in to finish and picked up his first save. The Barons won 8 - 5.

Game two: Barons won 4 -2. Brian West pitched well and picked up his first win of the season. Gabe Alverez was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and Chad Durham was 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored.

The Barons compiled 20 hits and scored 12 runs in both games combined. They are turning things around down there.

Charlotte was rained out in Richmond.
