Man, I am so delighted with the efforts of Rick White and Tom Gordon this year!

And how 'bout that clutch hitting by the White Sox hitmen?

The Royals keep winning, the Sox keep losing. Not good. Not good.

We are a mediocre team, plain and simple. How long before Ginter replaces White on the roster??

I was actually feeling good with Gordon in there for the 15 seconds following that strikeout. Then Matthews Jr. brought me back to reality. :(:

You've got strength in the O from 7-2.
Weakness in 3-6, but signs of it getting better.

The O is coming around.

The starting pitching has been surprisingly good w exception of Garland.

But with a bullpen that literally BLOWS you can't win in the MLs! Just ask last yr's Cub team!

Good teams can hold a 4-2 lead going into the 7th.

JM has to make a decision:
Either stick with Gordon & White & hope they get better (fat chance!) or put them on the 15 day DL and try Ginter & either Almonte or Garland in the BP when Wright comes back.

I say you put them on the Dl now & make the callups.

Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: It ain't over now! For when the goin' gets
tough,..............the tough get going! Who's with me!? LET'S GO!
C'MON! OOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh, it's an audio thing. Us HOH people only get the visual effect and that is just some psychedelic artsy thing that says "Water" at least that is what mine said. Maybe it is just the default setting on my media player...

Thanks for the translation...

And what's worse, not an interesting one: no speed, no defense, no clutch hitting, no clutch pitching. What more could you ask for? The only thing that will make this team interesting will be winning, and I am losing hope of that.

We are all ready slipping behind first place, and this is not even supposed to be a tough part of the schedule! Gordon and the Bullpen has shown me nothing so far. We have lost half our games, because teams are tearing up the bullpen! Arggh, hopefully things get better with the Twins tommorow night, but the way we have played against them, I'm not really counting on it. No clutch hitting, bullpen, speed, defense, or fundementals.

With respect that was the point of Steve Rosenbloom's column.

Sure the Sox were playing .600 ball (they were 12-8) but can they do that the rest of the year playing the Yankees, Red Sox, Twins, A's, Angels and Mariners?

Can they do that by winning even a GAME West of the Red River?

I liked the fact that the Sox tried some in the off season but they didn't get the right parts (or wouldn't or couldn't afford to pay for the right ones). It's already been discussed the short coming of the club, no need to elaborate on that.

They are what? five out and the month's not even over. Long season or not, that's not good.

You forgot to mention the poor decisions Jerry Manuel makes so often this season .

Examples from yesterdays game

Going into the 8th trailing by 1 run, Maggs reached first as a leadoff batter on a single.

But instead of playing some little ball and sacrifice him to 2nd
Konerko grounds into another double play
His 6th of the season so far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice Decision Mr. Manuel

And calling up another Lefty (Sanders) to use Wunsch longer in a game and then take him out after 1 inning although he pitched strong makes no sense to me either.
Nice Decision Mr. Manuel

And so on and on and on .............

Can you feel the magic like it was in 2000 ?????

I can't feel anything like that.

The only thing I feel is that we'll loose a bunch of games and win a bunch of games

There will be some closed-door-meetings, but in the end we will finish 2nd in the Central Division again.....with phrases like "Wait 'till next season!!!!"

My prediction for the next 3 series

vs. Twins 1-2 (Mays will get us in 1 game, Garland will loose another game)

vs. struggling A's 1-2 (Better starting pitching and bullpen - Foulke,Bradford- and situational hitting)

vs Mariners 1-2 (one blowout against us and one loss on sunday - national TV !!!!!! -

So after that we will be 15-16 and maybe 7-8 games behind the Royals.

Say goodbye to the playoffs in 2003

But what is so bad about that.

We wouldn't have any chance to win just 1 game vs the damned Yanks.
