what's the record? Didn't Luis Castillo come really close to breaking it last year or something?

There is a tie for the longest game hitting streak in White Sox history. In 1997, Albert Belle tied Luke Appling's record of 27 straight games with a hit. Appling set the record in 1936.

As far as what Luis Castillo did, his 35 game hitting streak set a record for the Marlins , as well as a record for the longest game-hitting streak for a non U.S.-born player, and the longest streak for a 2nd baseman. The longest National League hitting streak on record is Paul Molitor's 39 game streak with the Milwaukee Brewers (Even though they were in the American League back then) back in 1987.

By the way, that teal isn't meant to mean sarcasm. That's just highlighting the Marlins ' main color.
