Kannapolis had an off day on Sunday.

Winston-Salem: The Hogs blew a four-run lead, losing to Frederick in the 10th. Josh Fields and Scott Patten were the unfortunate pitchers, giving up six runs on eight hits in the final two innings while facing 17 batters.

The link for the sad story:

Birmingham lost to Huntsville, 7-6. After Brian West had given up six runs in four innings, right-handers Jim Bullard and Yofu held the Stars scoreless over the next 4 innings. Tetsu Yofu, who had pitched 9 1/3 scoreless innings entering the game, gave up a run and three hits in 1 2/3 innings to earn the loss.

Charlotte: Jon Adkins allowed two home runs in the first inning, the first Adkins had given up this year. Charlotte then followed with three of their own. The Knights knocked Indy's starter, Campos out of the game after only 1 2/3 innings. In the 6th inning, Jorge Nunez hit a homerun, his first in two years.
Willie Harris continued his hot homestand for the Knights as he added three more singles in five at bats. Harris is hitting .583 (14-24) on this homestand. He has connected for three home runs, seven RBI's and two stolen bases in his current seven game hitting streak.

Matt Ginter (1-0) picked up the win for the Knights. He allowed two hits while striking out two in three innings of relief. Closer Edwin Almonte came on in the ninth and worked around a two out single to earn his league leading sixth save of the year.
