Kannapolis won both games in their series against Lakewood. First game 5-1, second game 2-1. In Game 1, Paulino Reynoso (2-0) won his second game, he allowed three runs on two hits and struck out five. Game two: In the nightcap, it was a pitcher’s duel, Brian Miller (2-1) tossed a two-hitter allowing one run and striking out three. Matt Sweeney (0-1) pitched four innings in his first loss for the Blue Claws.

Winston-Salem split their double-header with Frederick. In the first game, Kris Honel took the loss. He pitched 4 innings, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits, with just 2 strike outs. Kris McWhirter pitched 3 scoreless innings. The Hogs lost game one 5-4. Game two: Ryan Wing earned the win with another excellent outing.
Wing earned his third win with no losses. He tossed six innings, giving up one run on four hits. Scott Patten pitched the ninth. Daylen Holt (acquired from Oakland) hit home runs in both games.

Charlotte won both games in their double header yesterday. (Yes, we're still getting a LOT of rain down here). Mike Porzio and Arnie Munoz combined on a five hit shutout, as the Knights completed a doubleheader sweep of the Indianapolis Indians 5-0.
Mario Valenzuela connected for a three-run home run and Jon Rauch hurled his third consecutive quality start as the Knights won 9-3.
