a cell phone was thrown at carl everett while in RF today in Oakland. he seems to have thrown it back (underhanded throw) and cut another fan wich seem to be unintentional. anyhow, full story--http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0419/1541458.html

The article doesn't say anything about him throwing it back.

Where did you read that?

actually i saw it on Baseball Tonight. he threw it back and hit a guy of whom they had a good freez frame of a cut on his forhead. Appearently this is not what mr. everett intended (i think he just meant to throw it over the fence, which is mentioned in the article) because he immediately began to oppologize, or so it looked.

i probably didn't give you the best article maybe one at the rangers or athletics home pages would be better, or maybe even the oakland paper's site ( haven't checked)

"I'm going to be pressing charges. Fans pointed him out and they arrested him. It's just ignorance and alcohol and probably too much of both. That's what causes this.''

Great line! :D: Carl Everett might be a tool, but even he doesn't deserve to have crap thrown at him.

You mean to tell me that this hasn't been blamed on a displaced White Sox fan out here in the Bay Area? What's wrong with the Trib and the Sun-Times. I'm disappointed in them.
