Good pitching helped the Knights defeat the Louisville Bats last night. From the Charlotte Observer:
"Cooper (2-1) allowed only three hits in 6 2/3 innings, striking out five.
"I'll take that one," he said. "I was a little upset by the walks (three) and I threw a lot of pitches. But I was mixing it up pretty well."
So did Dave Sanders and Edwin Almonte. Sanders struck out three in 1 1/3 innings in a set-up role. Almonte pitched a perfect ninth for his fifth save."
Dan Wright will make his first start tonight for the Knights.
