WARTHOGS WIN 3-0 ON TUESDAY AT MYRTLE BEACH
(04.14.02) Myrtle Beach, SC- The Winston-Salem Warthogs (7-0) remained unbeaten with a 3-0 win at Myrtle Beach on Monday night. All three runs came with two outs and Ryan Wing improved to 2-0, pitching seven shutout innings, yielding one hit and striking out six. Ryan Meaux pitched the eighth and ninth innings for his second save. Matt Coenen pitched six innings in the loss for Myrtle Beach.

The Warthogs broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the sixth. With two outs, Ruddy Yan and Mike Spidale reached base with singles. Jeremy Reed followed with a two-run double to right centerfield. The Warthogs’ final run came with two outs in the eighth. With two outs, Ruddy Yan laid a bunt single down the first base line. Yan would then steal and second and third base. Casey Rogowski then singled to right scoring Yan.

Game two of the three game series will be Tuesday night at 6:05pm. RHP Franklin Francisco will make his first start for Winston-Salem. Myrtle Beach will counter with RHP Gonzalo Lopez. All the live play by play will be heard on 600am WSJS in the Winston-Salem area, or on the internet at www.warthogs.com.
