In case you don't know, Neal Cotts is the "other guy" in the Foulke trade. In two starts for AA-Birmingham, here's how he's doing -

2-0, 10 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 7 BB, 16 K.

Okay, so the 7 walks in 10 innings is a little troubling, but he's worth keeping an eye on.

The 7 walks is a little troubling, but his WHIP is still outstanding because he's only allowed 4 hits in 10 innings. And, obviously, the strikeouts and ERA are remarkable.

Does anyone know what Joe Valentine is doing? Did he make the A's pen or is he back in the minors? How did he do in S.T.?

Spring Training -

3.0 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 4 BB, 2 K

He's now pitching for AAA Sacramento - 4 appearances -

4.2 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 6 BB, 4 K, 1 WP

obviously having control issues right now.

Sounds like Cotts is doing all right. If he can cut down the walks then he could be a real stud. Keep it up!

I thought the Tiger's pitcher Cotts pitched well against us his two starts. I don't know much about him though.

You mean Gary Knotts? The Tigers picked him up from Florida for Mark Redman, so they're really hoping he turns out well. He's been mainly projected as a reliever, but obviously the Tigers are desperate. He has indeed been impressive thus far this season.

He had a ton of K's last year but he did it in a league that is not heavy with hitters,he is not a true strikeout pitcher, more a control guy with some heat.He needs to develop a decent changeup to make it to the next level, but all in all I wouldn't write him off,he has a good chance to make it to the MLB level.
