This is stupid but I'll say it anyway - he had the look of the old timey baseball manager c. 1965. He looked like a baseball manager, and I'm going to miss him because of that.
Torre sort of has that look.
Sparky Anderson definitely has it.
Tony LaRussa started the new breed of the cerebrial manager, which I don't enjoy as much.
If Joe Kerrigan, their pitching coach, is not made the permanent replacement after this season, the White Sox should try to contact him and offer him a job in the organization (pitching coach? consultant?). He is an excellent pitching coach.
Maybe Kerrigan can be a basecoach. He probably can fix some of the baserunning blunders of late

Joe Kerrigan is an excellent pitching coach. I would fire Nardi in a heartbeat if Kerrigan had interest in coming here.

They should fire Nardi "the pitcher killer"anyway,even if they have no replacement for him,Cal Eldred is still on the payroll and can fill in till a replacement is decided on.
