FUN FACT: Colon is really sick of Spring Training, as is the rest of the team. They all want the season to start and are just getting their work in at this point, Rooney reports.

Farmer does not care for the last of attention the Sox are getting by the media. Particularly how most ''journalists'' talk up the Twins bullpen while ignoring the Sox' Pen.

Sounds like after proving they can get guys out the first couple of outings, at this point MB and BC are just throwing over the plate, trying to get up the pitch count and get their work in. They're not trying to throw off hitters or anything like that... they're just sticking to a routine. Remember, Buerhle gave up 9 ER the other day to a handful of AA Rockies scrubs. This is obviously nothing to get worried about.

I realize that they are just working on throwing over the plate, but with the last game of ST, I would hope that he's starting to worry more about getting guys out too. With bases loaded and 1 out, BC should be trying to make that DP pitch which will be needed when the season starts. Instead he gave up a 2 run single to a nobody. He doubled up the next guy but it was a little late. Perhaps I am just being overly concerned. I really hope so.

He'll be fine. Spring Training is meaningless, more so for a guy like Colon.

Don't you remember Schilling getting lit up like a roman candle last year in the spring? He turned out okay, IIRC...

When guys pitch in the regular season, they're studying hitters, putting time in, getting ready for the lineups, etc. ESPECIALLY guys like Schilling. Which is why in spring, they just THROW. They don't do things like NOT throw a high changeup to a changeup hitter, etc. And I'm guessing Bart didn't exactly bone up on the hitting tendancies of the D-Backs Farm System.

Save your worry for April.

I guess the good news is that comparatively speaking, Bartolo had a 4.81 ERA last spring. All I know is I'd feel a little better about things if he seemed to be bearing down a little more in the last spring start before his regular season begins.

That's interesting to hear, considering that I thought Joe Nossek, our bench coach said he wore the #23 to make sure that no one else would take Ventura's number...but I do remember him saying that only someone "worth wearing that number" should wear it...very interesting (fun) fact indeed, Unregistered...I guess Daubach is "worthy" to wear Ventura's number...I wonder what number Nossek will wear now? What former White Sox player's number will he protect now?

Well, granted it is ST, I think we might be "holding back" against them...plus, don't we play them "for real" this year, due to interleague play? That could be a reason...another thing, I thought that this year we were actually doing better against them and winning some games against them...

Well they set the tone with that 14-5 whipping the first S.T. game (I don't remember how we scored our safety), and they whipped us a couple more times until MB got us a win against them. Since then I don't believe we have come within a touchdown of beating them.

As all of us said and Rooney & Farmer verified, Colon and Buerhle (who gave up 9 Runs to Colorado's minor-league team) are just trying to get their pitches in. Their not trying to fool hitters, they're not trying to avoid pitching low fastballs to lowball hitters, etc... they're just trying to build up the arm strength and get the innings in. MB and BC showed what they can do when they were pitching lights out to start the spring... now with days until opening day, they're not overextending themselves, they're just playing catch.

Like I said earlier, save your worries for April.
