View Full Version : Boomer Tossed His Perfect Game Drunk

When David Wells tossed his perfect game against the Twins a few years ago, he did it half lit. The night before, he was at a party and got an hour's worth of sleep. This was reported on WBBM-AM, and this is part of an upcoming autobiography. Gee, I wonder what he'll say about his time with the White Sox.

That still doesn't beat Dock Ellis' perfect game that he threw while on acid...

Rumor has it that Don Larsen, a known drinker at the time, didn't expect to face the dodgers again in the ws and attended a party the eve of his perfect game. He pitched the game with a hang-over, so much for stretching exercises to keep loose.
He and Wells had attended the same high school, I can't rememder the name.
