I just read the other thread. It was said in there that he won as well (not just in a link... it was actually written).

It won't let me.
I need an administrator or something to do it.
I'm really sorry. Didn't know.

Heh. I actually saw it on ESPN first. O well, I would rather have it spoiled by news of Maggs winning than by news of Maggs losing.

Yeah considering it's on a bunch of sites by now.
Damn, I just saw that Maggs kicked Glaus' ass 15-6 and set a new record of 15 HR's in the normal 5 innings!
"It doesn't really bother me if people recognize me or not," Ordonez said. "I'm just here to play the game. I have fun playing baseball, and I just care about my team. That's it."
"But when they watch the TV, they'll know that I won this."
Good article on it from whitesox.com (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/news/cws_news.jsp?ymd=20030209&content_id=198430&vkey=news_cws&fext=.jsp)

Hey hey! All right Maggs! I can't wait to see what the papers are going to say about this and what an injustice it was that Sammy wasn't there.

My bad, the Tribune did have a story on this today. I don't know how I could have missed those three little sentences buried in the paper.

To be fair it's not as if the Big League Challenge is meaningful or anything. Although I am glad Maggs should get a bit of national recognition for this. Along with Brian Giles and Bobby Abreu, Maggs is in a group of stars who get nowhere near the attention they deserve.

I agree with you, but he should have gotten more than 3 sentences. Had Sammy won, there would be at least 2 full articles written praising the savior. Although he gets more, throw in Vlad not getting near enough the amount he should be getting.
