I was looking through all of the new jersey numbers and here are the changes from last year:

Jon Garland is now #20 (why though?)
Josh Stewart takes Garland's old number (52)
Colon is 40
Olivo 8
Jiminez 5
Rowand 33
Ginter 32
Gordon 46
Rick White 50
Koch 44
Malone 29
28 Rios

Most of these numbers... I really don't understand why they had to change them (except for the new guys... who naturally need jersey numbers). Garland, Olivo, Ginter, Jiminez and Stewart didn't need number changes did they?

Actually Dave Sanders took Garland's #52.

Well Jimenez must prefer 5 to 28, Rowand probably had 44 purchased from him by Koch, so He picked up 33 cause it was similar to 44. Garland probably picked 20 Becasue a Coach no longer had it and It was How old he was when he made his debut. Olivo, probably didn't want to be 60, that's a minor leaguers number. Ginter probably figured he might have better luck with 32 rather then 58, and If Stewart had a number before it was probaly up in the 70s so he would jump at a chance to get a legite Major leaguers number.

I think most Major leaguers like Smaller numbers because the higher numbers are more for Minor leaguers in Spring training.
