View Full Version : Morons @ Sun-Times Editorial Board

The Sun-Times editorial board usually uses the editorial page to push its conservative reactionary agenda while heaping praise upon George W. Bush and Ariel Sharon. Today, the Sun-Times editorial board decided to attack the White Sox on the name change.

Now it's one thing to be against the name change of Sox Park, but the editorial board should at least get its facts straight when making the attack. The editorial stated "And now the Sox have $68 million to spend on crybaby stars who fail to perform."

First of all, it has been stated many times since Friday that the $68M will not be used for player personnel but solely ballpark renovations. I guess the Sun-Times editorial board never lets the facts get in the way of a good hatchet job.

I am also angry at our players being portrayed as "crybaby stars who fail to perform." Now the only current Sox player I think that charge could really be levied upon is Frank Thomas for past incidents. We will see if Frank bounces back this year and performs, however. Moreover, is the Sun-Times calling Mágglio Ordóńez a "crybaby star who fails to perform"? Or Paulie? Or Burly-mon?

That editorial was nothing short of a complete piece of crap. BTW, here it is:

Isn't it great when they let me get to write the editorial?

"I look like even more of a moron on TV than I do in this picture so I had to lash out at someone."

Is it the end of baseball? Hardly. Is it a good thing? No. Fans would flock to Preparation H Park if the Sox could start winning.

Ok, does everybody come here (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16918) when they need a clever one-liner?

In the "Quick Takes" column in the Suntimes yesterday they referred to the Sox as "Cellular Dwellers". We need to start copyrighting the posts on WSI.

It is pretty obvious right now that many Sun-Times writers are lurkers on this website and flat out ripping off our posts and even some of the articles like Lip's Sportsvision piece.

I've already sent an e-mail to the Sun Times editorial department on this. Don't know if they'll use it or not, but if anybody sees it in the paper please let me know.
