Bobbie Brownlie looks like he'd rather not wear Cubbie blue.

That ChicagoSports.com article was written yesterday. The following was written afterward I believe, on the Cubs website:

hopefully, he isnt that stupid to wait for the Cubs.
Then again, his dumb-a** should be in Class right now....
I hope he isnt another Greedy-Athlete-Type-Wanting-
the-Spotlite-Payday like JD DREW, or MARK PRIOR or
BOBBY "Million Dollar" HILL. THey will all get whats coming
to them. "Paybacks are Bitch" -Mustaine

Looks like Hendry's called Boras' bluff, and won.

Good. I'm glad Boras is losing this battle.

What was Brownlie originally looking for with the signing bonus?

Glad to hear that Boras lost this tug of war. Looks as though Boras will end up losing with Kenny Rogers too. I doubt Rogers will get anything close to what the Rangers had offered.

He was looking for $4 initially, similar to Guthrie's deal, and lowered to right around $3 MM as late as Dec-Jan.

He signed for $2.5 plus incentives.

As much as I hate Boras, this is another win for him. He may have gotten less than he originally wanted but he got more than a person in that draft position should have received.
