why the sox picked Houston, I dont know.
It was fun going to Milwaukee for the games.
Still cant believe hearing Brewer Fans spewing all
the garbage they read in the papers after asking them
how the felt about moving to the NL ...
"its better baseball"
"theres no DH"
"the games are faster"
"we were always a National League city"
all total bs.
I should see if any WSI people here would be interested
in making this trip.....the flights on Expedia are super
super cheap to Houston right now.....

Cheryl, message me when you can.
I found on expedia a $388 flight, roundtrip,
chicago ohare to houston. the hotel included w this
is the sheraton houston galleria.
Im told that series wont be sold out, and tix will
be $5 !! I have an Indians friend whose brother lives
there, so I got that info just now from him.
this is sounding more and more like a very do-able
and inexpensive trip.

I too would have preferred games against the Brewers, because it would have given the Sox a chance to face...

of people here would make a trip like this...
fares are so cheap, and so are the tix for this game...

Excuse me for my ignorance, but didn't the Sox play at "Enron Field" in 2000??

NO they didnt. I swear the played Here. THey ended up sweeping the Sox here too. That was the series where
Bagwell hit 3 homeruns in the game. I was there, my
nephew caught the 2nd HR in LF (old bullpens were there)
Thats funny, we were just looking at that ball last nite, and
were planning on going to Houston in march and hope he signs
that ball.

Actually, they did play a series in Houston in 2000. The series Hangar18 is thinking of is from 1999. That series was at Comiskey, and the Sox were swept. Bagwell did hit three homeruns in a game during the series.

During the 2000 series, I remember that Frank started the first two games, but he was rested for the final game, and Konerko got the start at first base that day. The Sox then moved on to Cincinnati, where Frank won a game with a pinch-hit homerun.

The following Friday, the series against the Cubs began. The Sox ended up taking two of three in that set.
