I just looked over the schedule and figured it all out. Mark me down for 98 wins.
March/April: 21-6 The first four weeks of the schedule are the weak sisters of the division. We absolutely must jump out quickly if we are going to take this division.
May: 14-14 A west coast trip and away at Minnesota make this a tough month.
June: 15-13 Away at Arizona, Minnesota and the Cubs could cause some problems. Home series with San Francisco, Boston and the Cubs make this a month in which a championship season is forged. If we come out of this month above .500, expect good things.
July: 18-7 Lots of Tampa Bay, Detroit and Cleveland. Along with April, this is the month that it is absolutely essential to dominate.
August: 16-13 Another West Coast swing (love falling asleep to games, hate waking up to losses). 4 at Anaheim and a trip to New York pose some problems here.
September 14-11 Definitely a playoff tuneup month. Boston home and away, Minnesota home and away and the Yankees at home. We need a lead heading into this one because we are not going to make up ground in September.
98 should be enough to get us some sort of playoff action.
