general manager Theo Epstein seems intent on signing another first baseman either to complement Jeremy Giambi or allow the Sox to shift Giambi to DH if he fails with the glove. Epstein's prime target appears to be free agent David Ortiz, who hit .272 with 20 homers, 75 RBIs, and a .339 on-base percentage last season for the Twins.
I guess Ortiz is really pounding the ball in the Winter Leagues too
