Yes he is old, but IMO he'd be worth a 2-year contract since Mark is the only realistic LH starter we have in the pipeline. His numbers after the trade last season were outstanding and he appears to be healthy. Even with all of that, he'd be a risky proposition for a #2 starter. All of that said, I haven't followed what his contract demands have been, so I don't know if it's realistic.

What do people think?

I'd say no. First, although his numbers with the Cardinals were pretty good, he was in the NL so he's facing pitchers. Plus, he's been pretty sketchy with the Indians over the last year or two. Add that to the fact that he is ancient and had some injury problems. If the Sox were going to go after a LH starter, I think I'd go after Daal, but I'm still inclined at this point to just go with what we have, since we apparently have missed out on all the legit no. 2 types out there.

Nope; reports stated that he was about to, but negotiations fell apart at the last second. He's on the market.
