Just a note to all. I e-mailed HKS Dallas office, and this was their reply (with my original note attached):

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your interest in our designs at Comiskey Park.
The revisions to be done this year and years previous will be
back online by the end of the week.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to send you any renderings
directly.

Thanks for you interest,
Don Williams

To Whom it May Concern:

Your computer renderings of the renovated Comiskey
Park has generated a frenzy of interest here amongst
Sox fans. The reviews have extremely positive.

However, I guess I was too slow to see them. When do
you plan to bring them online again? If not, would it
be possible to send me those images? I certainly hope
you can assist me - this is all very exciting, and I
don't care how long it takes...as long as it gets done
eventually.

Thank you.

Sounds fishy to me. I think the train of thought that they showed way too much seems appropriate here - and that they are scaling them back in light of what WILL be built in 03. Pity.

:whiner:

I also spoke to the HKS office just now....and
just as I Suspected....I did read here that the pics were
going to go Back Online at the end of the week.
But theyre going to be Watered Down Pictures....
Pics will simply show all the new painting thats been done.
Thats It. No Home Run Porch,,,,No Faux Buildings
in the outfield (what a great idea that was-take it one step
further, and make them Actual buildings...people can go
inside and go up to the "RooF" of the buildings to watch
the game!) No Grand Entrance/Building in Left Field.

That sucks I thought Comiskey would look great if it were done the way it was in the pictures. I wonder if the Sox have any plans to do this in the future

I'm sure that's the plan, but only if someone other than the Chairman has to pay for it.

I hadn't seen anything before the link was put here, but I remember hearing about all of those additions, except maybe the home run porch over a year ago before the HFC deal fell apart. I remember specificially the new building where the players' lot is now.

Take a look at the drawings of the new San Diego ballpark. An actual office building is being built into the left field part of the stadium.

Those who work in those offices can actually watch the game at the same time. At least those whose offices look out towards the infield.

It is really spectacular

Whatever company is in that office building won't get much work done.

That stadium looks awesome. I may just have to make a college roadtrip (when I go to college, anyway) to see it.

My college roadtrips involve me and some friends driving to Chicago, getting drunk Downtown or up on Rush. Oh and of course, At least 1 Sox game.

I reccomend hotwire.com. I've stayed at some very nice hotels for CHEAP.

Do you watch that 1 Sox game at 1060 W. Addison?

1060 W. Addison? Isn't that where Elwood Blues lives.

Actually, the new SDiego ballpark will have an old Warehouse
in left field. The architects are building the stadium AROUND that
whse, and rehabbing the whse for restaurant/bar use. So yeah, they will have decks, and a corner of the building will ACTUALLY BE IN FAIR TERRITORY. The corner of the building will be used as the Left Field Foul Pole. Talk about Cool. I told one of the Architects at HKS (you guys heard it here first) to alter their Comiskey Design to make our 3story bldg somewhat like SanDiego's bldg.

Good call jortafan, great movie. But my reference was jokingly linking nut stock's college drinking fest to a specific ballpark.
