Daily Southtown: Ligue denies abuse charges

The saga continues...

William Ligue Jr., charged in the attack of a Kansas City Royals coach in September, on Wednesday denied recent allegations that he was abusive to his 15-year-old son, who also was arrested in the attack.

Ligue's fiancee and his sister also said Ligue was not abusive to his son.

"I love my son," Ligue said at his sister's home in Alsip. "All these allegations (about abuse), they are not true."

The defense said Ligue would often get the boy drunk, burn the boy's arms with a cigarette and force him to seek out fights to prove his manliness.

If any of this is true (there's a statement by the fiance that he never beat on his son in the story), then, yeah, he abused the boy.
