30 Tigers
In the weekly Sox report by Scot Gregor : RHP Keith Foulke wants to know his role for 2003. As of now he's still in the bullpen and is scheduled to compete with LHP Damaso Marte for the closer's job. But if GM Kenny Williams can't land a quality starter, Foulke will audition for a spot in the rotation. Foulke wants to start but he will need to build up his arm strength to make the switch. In his last 31 innings, Foulke allowed one earned run....3B Joe Crede who played very well after being recalled at the end of July will be the team's starting 3rd baseman next year. But the organization wouldn't mind seeing a better work ethic from him. While most of the team's younger players are headed for winter ball, Crede opted to sit out until spring training.
Also this note from the Tampa Bay section, written by Chris Anderson. "The team has little money to spend, but Royce Clayton could be a possibility. Clayton, released by the White Sox, would be a better alternative defensively."
