Cubs declined to pick up the Crime Dog's option for 2003. I was so looking forward to seeing 2 of the top 10 all-time K leaders going at it again, too...

After that magical 2002 run of seeing the best 3-4-5 in baseball history, I can't imagine why they didn't pick up McGriff's option?
