As far as I'm concerned, its the sport of the gods.

That, and air hockey. Zeus loves the air hockey.

Fishing is the sport of the gods.

Since I now get paid to fish I have to say things like that.

Don't tell me you have one of those 80 mph Ranger bass boats.

American Beer, 50 inch HDTV, Football, and the Chicago White Sox is all that Zeus needs.

Daver

No,I haven't made the big leagues.I still use my own boat,I get free line and my entrance fee paid for and a couple other small perks, and I wouldn't use a Ranger boat anyway.

Samy Sosa and Frank Thomas both die. God shows Samy Sosa around heaven. They finnaly get to Samy Sosa's new house. Its a smaller one bedroom with fadded cubs banners and a few hats. God looks at him and says "Be happy, most people don't even get a house". Sammy then looks over on a hill and sees a huge mansion with White Sox flags, banners, jurseys etc.... And Sosa says "Why does Frank Thomas get such a nice house and mine is so bad!" God says "Thats not frank Thomas's house. Its mine".

His job changed to one where he actually has some work to do! Of course, that doesn't excuse him from checking in from home from time to time.

He's been around a couple of times. But, I think his boss is making him work hard. :)

What do you teach Nellie?

I am transitioning between a business career into college teaching. The debate is whether to get a PhD, which seems necessary for a good gig at a university?

Has he even registered on the new board yet? Unless he took the opprotunity to change s/n's, I haven't seen him for a while.

I dunno, I was waiting for that post from Daver for a while since I saw that Bmr quote...I was hoping for something a little more exciting from daver though, threats of violence maybe?

Kemper, needless threats of violence get you nowhere.I made my point and that was all I really needed to say.

Besides I don't think anyone wants to take me up on a test of arms.

Hey Daver: I may not be a hunter, but I've sent many thousands of rounds downrange. In fact, I'll bet I'm to only one here recovering from injuries from a firearm explosion. You haven't lived until a handgun detonates in your hand. This is the first week I've been able to type with all ten fingers.

Daver

I've had a shotgun barell fire on me,but not a handgun. The shotgun will put a sting in your hands for a week so I can sympathize.the worst was the first time I fired a .50 cal and tried to do it sideshot, damn thing about tossed me out of my boots.

This was a .45 Long Colt revolver. Took out three cylinders and the top strap on the gun. My index finger had torn ligaments in the first two knuckles, torn nerve, torn artery, fracture in the second knuckle, and two partially severed tendons. Way more fun than I deserved.

Daver

Damn a revolver did that?I would kinda expect it from a semi, but a revolver is usually a safe bet, unless its dirty as hell.

Nellie_Fox

I probably shouldn't be continuing this discussion, as it has nothing to do with baseball. Nope, it's a well known mystery in cowboy shooting (and happened many years before with revolvers in IPSC, etc.) The best theory is underloaded cartridges (the .45 long colt is a black powder cartridge, lots of air space with modern powder) having to do with ignition transients and things that only engineers understand, but they have never been able to duplicate it in a lab.

FWC will probably, and rightfully, boot this to the parking lot.
