Twinkies skipper Ron Gardenhire on the trouble the twinks have with lefties:

``A lot of teams struggle off of the left-handed pitchers,'' Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said, quickly listing Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Mark Buehrle , David Wells and Andy Pettitte. ``Those guys are nasty. It's not like too many teams have done very well. Yeah, we have a left-handed-hitting lineup which makes it a little tougher for us.

Did he jinx our boy Burly by mentioning him in the same sentence as Boomer the Clubhouse Tumor?

Gezze, he also mention Zito. So does mean Mark will take to a Barry level next year?

I've noticed while watching Gardenhire in his press conferences, that he always looks like he's trying to hold back a big belch when he talks. Check it out the next time he's on tv. :D:

I don't think so. He also mentioned several other quality left-handers. Even Pettitte. :D:

If Boomer placed any jinx on Mark, it was a good one. Buehrle mentioned a few times last year that David Wells helped him develop into the ace that he is today. In fact, Buehrle even recommended bringing David Wells back, although the White Sox didn't.

For once, management made a good decision.

Hopefully, we'll see Buehrle reach "Zito-like" levels in 2003. Although, in the public eye he never will because Mark doesn't throw a lot of strikeouts.

Ah, the mighty K.
