Lost in all the action around the first base coaching box was the fact that once again, the Sox blew a chance to sweep a series and get back over the .500 mark.

It's been happening all year.

This is the 9th time the Sox have failed to win the last game of a series and get a sweep.

back below .500.

They have to win 6 of the final 9 to at least get something worth a damn out of this abortion of a season.

This has been a trend the last two years; they have no killer instinct. Also, the Tinkerer often goes with the Jr. Varsity lineup in the third game after winning the first two (although I think Maggs was the only regular he sat last night). If Wee Willie just could have made some decent contact with Jimenez on third base in the 8th, might have been a different story.
