From today's Daily Prospectus (http://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/20020909daily.shtml):

Keith Foulke is back. Despite entering 2002 as arguably the best reliever in the game, Foulke got off to a slow start this year, slow enough to lose his closer position. But true to Joe Sheehan's analysis, Foulke has been on a tear since the All-Star break, and he's crept back into the top 30 relievers in run prevention. If the White Sox follow through with their plans to move him back into the starting rotation, he could be one of the most valuable players in the league next season.

I think saying he could be one of the most valuable players in the league is a bit of exaggeration but he could be a frontline starter to go with Buehrle. That'd be nice.

From the Totally Biased Series Update (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas/index.php?category=12)....

Keith Foulke has been his old, dominant self in the second half. Since the All-Star Break, Foulke has a microscopic 1.05 ERA and an even better 0.94 WHIP in 25.2 innings spanning 22 games. However, he has no saves in that span (but has 5 holds).

I would hope if the Sox move him into the rotation he could be decent but I do not know. Sure he has been pretty nice since the All Star break but to hope that he could pitch a minimum of six to seven nice innings a start might be a stretch.

that 'gimmick' pitch must be working for him.

i dont care if he shoots the ball out of his ass as long as he gets people out. :D:

i also did notice that he was throwing a breaking pitch this weekend.

If Foulke can do that, trade him to the Cubbies!

I am pretty sure that is a balk, but only if his left cheek doesn't cross the rubber during his wind (rhymes with win not wine) up...

As long as there isn't any foreign material on the ball.
