Only two years to late!

Hopefully Joe Cowley will tear him apart in the paper on Monday.

I am glad he is gone but I want to know why they did it with three weeks left in the season? With expanded rosters, it did not matter. He must have done something that just put him over the top. Speaking of expanded rosters, are they going to call anyone else up besides Borchard and Rauch?

Miguel Olivio and Joe Valentine will be up when the Barons are done with post season play.

But he's the best defensive shortstop in the game! We're doomed!

Do it on a day when the Bears win, so a big mistake being written off wont be discussed much. EXCEPT HERE

Yeah let's let them win the SL Championship first

I want to see what Valentine can do. Also what about Almonte? He isn't doing anything right now, why not a call-up for him?

The real question is why wasn't he waived on August 1?

I wonder if KW was trying, trying and trying to get someone to trade for Clayton - hoping that he'd at least get something in return.

I wonder if anyone will pick-up Clayton.

You can speculate why he was released today in this week's question of the week.

hey now, don't get down on the guy. I always liked clayton mainly for his defense and "uniform pants bloused at the knees." the guy was a badass. plus his second-half offense was impressive. I did not like his clubhosue influence. with the young kids around, it'll be good to get him out of here. i had noticed that he was the odd man out for a good couple of weeks now. i think jerry was desperately trying to move him. oh well. he's gone now so i guess it's the d'angelo jiminez era beginning. now you all have harris to get down on. welcome to the big leagues son! <sigh>

Had to pay for him nothing. They got another 6 or 7 games out of him!

Nobody wants him at all. It's past September 1st, so he can't be on any playoff rosters, no need to bring that cancer in.

I'm glad He's gone, but I'm gonna miss saying "The Choice" every time he came to bat. Good Riddence!

Well, at long last--guess this is as close KW will come to admitting that he hasn't a clue in what he's doing.

:KW
"I had this in mind all along--Clayton would take us from point B, back to point C, and finally back to point D."

:reinsy
"Point D is cheap--it's all I can afford with these cheap fans. I can't believe we didn't have 40,000 out for the Indians on Sunday."

Is that for sure? Is nobody else at AAA deserving of a callup?

I wonder why Bill Simas and Ken Vining haven't been called up.

Because we have a moron for a GM. Rosters expand and we only call up two guys.

Saving $$$$ ?
Anyone called up would receive the ml minimum salary for this final month of the season.

Whats up with this???

Carlos Lee eyed the crowd around Royce Clayton's locker following Sunday's 7-6 win over Cleveland and wondered what all the fuss was about.

When he learned that the White Sox' erstwhile starting shortstop had been released, Lee approached Clayton, gave him a hug and said: "Congratulations.''

"It's okay, son. Don't worry. I'm sure there is someone out there who will buy you ice cream."

:reinsy

"I'm too cheap to pay anymore ice cream bills. I'm also too cheap to sign any free-agents in the off-season, because fans won't come to the park. So there!"
