Who are the people in this photo? The screaming coach is Wally Backman. I think the pitcher is Corwin Malone. The catcher, is that Miguel Olivo?

Someone please tell Screamin' Wally that he should take off his mirrored shades when yelling at the umps.

Definitely not Olivo or Acevas. Looks like Humberto Quintero or possibly Lee Evans, but they only played a combined 6 games at catcher for Birmingham this season.

Quintero was dealt to San Diego for D'Ang, IIRC.

He played in 4 games as C this season at AA, and yes, he was part of that deal.

The Barons in this picture are Wally Backman, manager; Corwin Malone, pitcher; and Jonathan Aceves, catcher. Wally was the manager in Winston-Salem last year. Also, both Corwin and Ace played here last year. Both great guys.

The Barons win Game 2, 6-5!! One more win and there in the Championship! Olivo hit a homer, and Super Joe Valentine got the save.

Also I was on the phone, but I heard Hawk talking about the minors and did I mishear or did Hawk say that Valentine was throwing it up there at 100? Or was he talking about someone else?

Hawk DID say that Joe was throwing around 100 mph. On the Barons' website, it says Joe got the Rolaids Relief Man award for the minor leagues this year. He is AWESOME! Please don't trade him, Kenny!!!!!!!
