Hopefully this won't happen to WSI. If it does, we will have to retaliate somehow. Its good to see Astrosdaily worked at a deal with MLB with the help of the Astros, so at least there is hope if MLB sends the dreaded letter. The last quote in the article makes me wish MLB took some lessons from the NFL

Actually this is an issue where they just may have. Last year a few fan NFL sites got cease and desist orders from the teams they were covering (at least one Bengel site and a Jets site too, IIRC). Both of those sites were highly critical of management though, so WSI has nothing to fear...

Ray Kerby of http://www.Astrosdaily.com said Major League Baseball Properties was upset by a display of vintage Astros logos he had in a history section on the site. He was going to fold his site, but a flood of supportive phone calls changed his mind.

What a joke! It's not like the guy was selling the vintage logos. Maybe if MLB put some time & money into making their "official" sites worth a crap, they wouldn't have to worry about losing all of their precious hits to the "unofficial fan sites". Just look at the content here at WSI vs. the official cookie cutter MLB White Sox site...it's like comparing ice cream to horse manure.

"If you come to the park, I will talk to MLB.com about allowing WSI to remain open. I think it's important for fans to support their team. Having said that, if the site is order to shut down, you fans will be to blame. I have told you countless times that I can't do anything to improve the quality of the team on the field or the size of the fan base unless you people show some initiative and attend games."

"I don't want people talking about MY sport. Damn those fans for actually following baseball."
