As discussed as a possible factor in the recent Sox trades, Free Agent Compensation was eliminated.

Worldwide draft was not made official, as it will be explored and is aiming for implementation by the June 2003 draft. Players want 20 rounds, Owners want 38. If a team fails to sign a 1st round pick, they will receive a pick in the next draft 1 spot behind their failed pick. Failing to sign second round picks will get you a sandwich pick between 2nd and 3rd rounds in the subsequent draft.

Crap. Crap, crap, crap. Well, this shows the owners are in no way looking for competitive balance. This is awful, and I'm probably making an understatement.
