{Howry, who is 6 feet 5 inches, got off to a slow start with the Sox, but recently has raised the velocity of his fastball from about 89 miles per hour to 93 or better.

He said Little and pitching coach Tony Cloninger helped him by recommending that he stand tall as he starts his delivery rather than crouch. But he said he also has helped himself by trying not to overreach.}
