About Avi. Now we can all worry about Abreu until there's a report on the x-ray of his finger.

.@79JoseAbreu (https://twitter.com/79JoseAbreu) had X-rays on his hand last night and they were negative.

I worry about both. Knee inflammation usually isnt something that goes away forever without a procedure. A bad throwing hand finger could affect both throwing a ball and gripping a bat for awhile, ligament damage can take awhile to heal. Yes, I am a doom and gloomer.

Eh, I'm pretty sure both of their careers are over. So you're in pretty good shape I think.

Abreu has a bad index finger , why has he been playing 1st base where he could possibly cause further damage to this finger?
He should have been DHing as soon as this problem arose.

Only Robin knows. He's the same guy who started Garcia with a bad knee on turf in Toronto remember?

For all of his faults as a manager Robin does not strike me as a guy that would consciously play injured players. It wouldn't be the first time a player hid an injury or tried to play through it on his own. Soon it will be announced... Robin is indeed the antichrist.

The Sox will watch Garcia closely to make sure he doesn't aggravate the injury again.

"He ran around and looked fine (working out Friday), but how much is adrenaline and how much of it is him wanting to fake it?" Ventura said. "I told him there's no reason to fake it. We have enough guys to get through it, so don't try to be a hero."

Abreu "about same," RV said. "You hope it's good enough to get him in there Tuesday." Off day Monday.

Of course he's not going to consciously play someone that shouldn't play... but that doesn't mean he didn't exercise poor judgment in allowing Avi to play on the turf in Toronto.

"I feel much better today. I think the treatment the last two days and today have worked well for me," Abreu said via an interpreter. "I think with [Monday's off-day] and one more day of treatment, I will be ready to play in Texas.

"The last day everything was tough. I didn't hit, I didn't throw the ball. I think it was more discomfort for me when I was trying to throw the ball because I didn't feel the finger and couldn't have control of the throw."
