Very interesting, Daver. I like the way that system would work, it seems fair. It would insure competitive balance for teams who are willing to spend a little and compete, without rewarding certain teams that would probably pocket the money.
It was also interesting to see where the Sox fit in all of this. The plan wouldn't really help us much, but we shouldn't need the help. The Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Angels are the only teams that play in larger markets than the Sox and Cubs, yet the Sox are run like a mid-market team.

I'm not an expert in any kind of finance but this proposal that you linked for us seems novel and more important than that it seems workable and doable. Aren't there any creative minds out there on either side that could propose something besides the same old same old?
