As DoD reported below, no strike date was set. Could this mean disunity among the players?

Maybe it means they have more of a brain in their heads than Selig and Fehr collectively do.

I don't think the right word is "Failed." They didn't set a strike date because they feel they are getting closer to a deal, that's at least how I interpreted it...

This is becoming a PR game of chicken right now. Niether side wants to look like the bad guy so they are just playing chess untill they get a checkmate.
