I watched the last couple of innings of yesterday's A's /yanks game. The A's are leading by a wide margine, have a runner at 3rd and Ray's at 2nd , 1 out., infield is in to cut off the run.
A ball is hit to Jeter, he looks to 3rd, the runner returns but, he sees Ray going behind him headed to 3rd. The A's now have 2 runners at third. Jeter, while blowing bubbles, slowly walks to 3rd and tags out Ray.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the yankmee announcer said, "What could Durham have possibly been thinking".

"I taught him that one."

After reading about incidents like this, it is not difficult to understand why the Sox seem to have played better baseball since Durham was traded. His poor baserunning decisions were a big reason why the Sox got themselves into trouble so many times when they could have put big innings together.
