Don't know about that but after tonight's fiasco against Texas, Paulino might be headed straight to Charlotte. Can't imagine that the Sox can keep running him out there.

One thing I'll say for him, he's consistent.

I feel bad for him. It's not fun watching a guy embarrass himself every time he goes out there and lose his job.

At least if we assign him we have no chance of losing him to another team.

The only way another team would take him would be if thye need a batting practice pitcher.

It's like if Adam Dunn was a pitcher.

That's actually an insult to how Adam's been hitting this year.

And Ventura - for leaving him in there to give up 10 runs.
2nd game this week Ventura punted.

I don't know. Once the game got out of hand, Paulino was taking one for the team. But now he needs to go to Charlotte.

Hell, I don't know why he didn't leave him out there longer. He only threw 103 pitches.

Like our sorry-ass bullpen would have mattered.

As it worked out, the pen did okay. Pen hasn't done badly this week. Ventura cost us the first loss when he ran out of pitchers in the 14th inning.
Ventura didn't even try tonight. Leaving a pitcher in for 13 hits and 3 BB in under 4 innings is pure clown managing.

You sure you want to stand by your statement that the bullpen hasn't done badly this week? Blame has to go to both Ventura and the pen, the pen for not throwing strikes and walking everyone under the sun (and walking the Sox out of the game), and Ventura for playing Bullpen Roulette without having a bullpen in the first place. Bottom line, this bullpen has been horse**** going on three years now, and someone needs to be held accountable.

No issue at all with Ventura leaving Paulino in- the Rangers starter was dealing- save the bullpen for another day-

Unless Paulino is showing some other progress (coming off injury) that Cooper can see- this may have been his last start- he's not showing anything.

I don't think you can put too much blame on the manager for running out of pitchers in a 14 inning game. That blame can go on the offense for not scratching out one additional run.

I seem to recall game 3 of the World Series we had to send a starter out to pitch in the 14th. :)

Hey, this is 2014. The White Sox offense can overcome an deficit in the 9th Inning. No hole is too deep.

I think everyone can forget about Wednesday night's game being lost because Robin brought Leury in instead of Paulino. At least that provides some closure.

He was out of baseball for basically two years and decided to give it a try in '14. Unfortunately, the results have been disastrous for both him and the Sox. I wish him well moving forward, but it's time to move on.

Because since the guy makes what you perceive to be a large amount of money, that obviously means he doesn't have feelings or that we shouldn't feel any sympathy for him. Got it.

I know this thread is in jest but if we were able to sue a player for suckiness we'd all be billionaires off of Jaime Navarro and 2011 Adam Dunn alone by now.

I'm perplexed as to why we signed him in the first place, he was 13-31 with a 4.91 ERA in his ML career, that plus he had elbow surgery in 2013.

There was some indication that he had figured it out in Kansas City. He had a 1.67 ERA in 2012 before he got hurt. It was definitely worth a shot.
