Jon Rauch's line

6.0IP, 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, 2 walks, 5 K's. Lowered his ERA to 5.04.

Borchard in the Double Header- 0-6, 3K's. Simas, Almonte, and Kieschnick pitched well.

If this is "encouraging," I'd hate to see what "bad" is in your book. 8 hits in 6 IP? A 5.04 ERA? Ugh.

Let's not forget he's coming off surgery.

When he was sent back to AAA those 8 hits were turning into 6 or 7 runs a game. Nice to see him improving.

I think you're being harsh, it's a quality start. Anything that helps show he's healthy is a good start. We'd like him to be dominant but solid is good right now.

yea, if he only gave up 2 earned run, that is encouraging. considering he wasnt doing so well earlier. hopefully, he will get back to form of 2 years ago by the time spring training rolls around....that is if there is one.

Yeah, I think Rauch is going to be alright. He hasn't even fully gotten his velocity back since he hurt his arm. If he has a good ST next year, he could find himself as the #5 starter.
