Just read that. Very unfortunate for one of the game's best young arms, and obviously for the Mets. Selfishly, this hurts my fantasty team, but for him, hopefully he recovers and comes back stronger than ever in 2015.

Ditto on both counts. Could have extended his contract for three years after this season, too.

Ugh. Hate to see this happen to pitchers just making names for themselves. Hope he doesn't need surgery.

Not only that, but Jeremy Hefner is also confirmed to be undergoing TJ surgery.

Yeesh, losing 2/5ths of your rotation (including your ace) to TJ-requiring injuries? Someone's losing their job in the Mets' strength and conditioning department.

No one is losing their jobs.. This is part of baseball. Pitcher arms are a ticking time bomb.

I wouldn't fire anyone from our training staff and we have lost $20 million in starting pitching the last 2 seasons (Danks and Floyd)

This sucks. I really like Harvey a lot and enjoy seeing him pitch. I was convinced he would no-hit the Sox when they faced him a few months ago, and he nearly did.

Typical Mets. Here in Chicago I know all about Matt Harvey and how awesome he is thanks to the national media but baseball fans know the Mets "stars" usually end up on the DL. Been this way for too long to be a coincidence.
