Nice of the hitters to back up our ace.

Chris Sale is a very good pitcher.

Who are these guys and what have they done with the 2013 White Sox?

Sale looked like he was pitching angry today. Fastball was hard and mean, and the slider was just nasty both in the low 80s and the mid 70s. What a performance. Guess he was sick of getting dinked around by Detroit this year.

Yeah, he was definitely overthrowing at points. He even threw his glove down on that long out by Tuiaspsospospaospsaopo.

Nice to see some fire, but hopefully he knows how to control himself.

Because of how good Sale is, the Sox cannot afford to completely rebuild.

They have to try to win a championship with this guy while he's young and healthy.

This may be reading too much into it, but half way through this game I really felt like this team threw off the 2013 Sox and decided to start fresh. Sounds ridiculous but if they get better from here I think people will mark this game as a turning point.

Don't worry, they'll be back in time to get swept by the Astros at home.

I have to comment on this because I forgot about it until now.

Jose Iglesias made a play I think on a ball hit by Phegley that (to me) was quite reminiscent of Iguchi's crazy horizontal diving throw from 2006.

I don't know what their contract situation with Peralta is, but he could never even dream of pulling off a play like that. I had heard that Iglesias was quite the defender before tonight, and holy crap that was incredible.

In addition to Sale, they also have a good core of starting pitching with Danks, Quintana, and Santiago. (I'm hopeful that Danks will have a good '14).

I agree that they shouldn't squander this with a total rebuild and I don't think they are planning a total rebuild.

Rent Sale before he gets hurt......

Baltimore makes the postseason.

Hahn rents Sale to Baltimore for entire postseason in exchange for Dylan Bundy.

Baltimore loses the wildcard game to Texas after Yu shuts them out with Sale only giving up 2 unearned runs.

Sox get Sale back with minimal usage and have Dylan Bundy to boot.

IT'S FOOLPROOF!!!!!!!!

Pointless question: Could the Sox have traded Peavey straight up for Iglesias and Detroit kept Avisyan Garciedo?

Probably but the consensus is that Garcia > Iglesias

Iglesias has made a few jaw dropping plays in the little I've seen of him. That glove is special.

To me, the Sox need offense more than defense, altho Inglesias is looking very good.

I am glad the Sox got Garcia....but Fister was pounding him and most Sox hitters on that inside corner...nice that they found a key to lighting him up for 14 hits eventually.

Gordo Beckham really looks like a centerpiece second baseman in the Utley mold lately. He has to be very good, like he has been,if the Sox do want a quick re-build around the young rotation.

Always nice to beat the frigging tigers....now they are 17-4 in their last 21....wow. Sox need to really shock them and win the series..

Yes, Sox definitely need more offense and it is always nice to beat the Tigers. Chris Sale was outstanding again last night. So glad the Sox scored some runs so Sale could get the win.

I actually disagree. I think the best thing we can do to help the pitching staff is to tighten up the defense. I was happy with the pick up of L. Garcia. If his defense is as good as advertised, I'm fine going with him at SS.
