View Full Version : Yu Darvish No Hitter Alert

Darvish hasn't allowed a hit thru 7 IP against the Astros.

Also AJ got tossed earlier for arguing what probably should have been strike 3 but instead was ball 4. If not for that, this would be a perfect game so far.

Is Marwin Gonzalez still on the Astros?

The guy's pretty good. He came, I believe, one hitter away no hitting the Astros at the beginning of the season.

I must correct myself. The pitch PRIOR to ball 4 should have been strike 3. The one that ended up being ball 4 was in fact a ball for sure.

Blah, gives up a homer to Carlos Corporan. Oh well, still a heck of a game for Darvish.

And it's over. Carlos Corporan homers to end it.

Just reviewed the at-bat. The 2-2 pitch is a strike in any respectable umpire's zone. You could make the argument that the 1-2 pitch could have also easily been called a strike. I'm not holding my breath that Kulpa apologizes like Jim Joyce did, but IMO he should be.

The ump's lips on AJ: "He's been giving me **** after every ****ing pitch."

I miss that guy.

Then don't suck at your job.

Seriously, though, that was a borderline pitch, but with a guy who is dealing, and in the 6th inning of a thus far perfect game, you have to call that a strike, no?

Yu is just filthy. One out away from a perfect game earlier this year, 15 K's and a no-no into the 8th today, 14 K's through 6 innings against the D-Backs last week.

He's been nigh on unhittable on multiple occasions this year.
