What good is a "solid core of young pitching", as Hahn was quoted in the Trib today...

with a horsebleep bullpen?

Walks suck.

Yup. Danks should have been pulled following the first walk. Donnie Veal should be relegated to blowout mop-up duty until he shows he can find the plate.

It was weird seeing the batting order change on the right field scoreboard right after Rios got traded.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Is Donnie Veal really the best they can do?

Nate Jones needs to be shown the door as well. What the heck happened to that guy.

He's actually pitched great for the last 20 outings or so; he's turned the corner and is consistently getting batters out with high heat or a nasty slider. The fact that he's able to control the slider now and throw it for strikes is the reason he's been very effective --- tonight notwithstanding.

12 wins in division, you got to almost try to be that bad.

Like Lindstrom and Axelrod are any better.

This bullpen needs an enema. Quickly.

We did trade our only good relievers, so not very surprising here. One can hope that the guys in Charlotte can do a better job when September rolls around.

I've never understood why you sacrifice with a base stealer on first when you're down 1 run. He's fast enough to score on a double, take 3 shots at it.

Ax doing what he does best. The guy's a home run machine.

And even those "good relievers" left a LOT to be desired.

Oh please, Lindstrom isn't great but he's clearly a major league pitcher. Veal is a loogy who walks every left hander he faces. It's not even close.

That's like comparing horse **** to cow ****. I don't care HOW you look at it, bottom line it's still ****... but hey keep on rockin' in the free world.

This team is bad, I'm rooting so hard for a top 3 pick. How did Garcia look on his strikeout, was it obvious or did he battle?

Every time I see Lindstrom he gives up hits and walks. He's bad.

Why is Axelrod still on this team?

Even if he's out of options, that not a good enough excuse.

DFA.

He has a 1.71 ERA since June 1. I'm sorry he hurt your feeling today.

Your post needs to be shown the door.

Yes, he has been very disappointing. I was happy with that signing when it was made, but I was wrong about him. The Sox will almost certainly be declining his option at the end of the season.

On a related bullpen note, Axelrod has given up home runs to the first batter he faced in three of his last five outings. That's remarkably bad right there.

I've followed this team for 43 years and I can honestly say I've never seen a sorrier bullpen that what we have right now.

I think 2007 was worse. But yeah, there's not much there beyond Jones and Reed. And Reed has had his blowups too.

Rare bad outing for Jones today. First batters faced are hitting below .100 against Nate this year. He had a rough April and May, but has returned to form since.

Troncoso, Veal, Purcey and Axelrod do not belong in the major leagues, so that makes it tough.

Chill. The plan is to lose games, boatloads of games, and get some high draft picks.

And then go for someone "signable".

They are one of the worst teams in the majors.

He looked great in the on deck circle. Good posture and can handle the weighted bat with either hand. Very observant of the pitcher's delivery. Polite to nearby fans.
Had no clue at the plate though.....................

One AB is probably a sufficient sample to evaluate Garcia.

Clearly Tekotte is better since he hit a homer.

Remember when the Twins sweeping us in a double header would cause a postgame thread meltdown?

Congratulations White Sox players and management, the fans indeed don't care anymore about the team you put together.

Thereby allowing inherited runners to score. Every time I watch that dude pitch, the opposing team adds to its run total. Lindstrom has been a real disappointment.
