As many of you probably know, our own Nancy Faust has been playing Sunday at Cougars games for the past two years. I'll be there this weekend. Anyone else been there to see our favorite organist recently? If so, what's it like? Is she as accessible as she was on the South Side? Does she still take requests and sign autographs? Just trying to get some info here.

I never understood why she left the Sox for Kane County. I'm guessing she lives close to the Cougars stadium.

Based on everything I've seen here over the years regarding stadium marketing and her having her playing time drastically cut back (her choice or ownership's choice... not really sure how that went down), I don't think it's too hard to figure out why she's playing for Kane County. The fact that she's playing for them tends to push the scales towards ownership wanting to part ways with her.

She used to live in Northern Lake County (IL). Just as hard to get to work as for the Sox. Unless it's on a Sunday.

I don't think the drive would've been an issue if she was playing more than 5 minutes a game.

The fact is the boneheads who run this organization cut her time. It's true that she left by her own choice, but I highly doubt she would've made such a decision if she was given the playing time she was accustomed to for decades.

No one wants to listen to the canned **** that comes piped through the speakers. We all wanted to hear Nancy play.

Last I heard, she lives in Mudelein. It's at least an hour drive and over 40 miles from there to Geneva.

"Our surveys say otherwise."

That's very short-sighted of you. I don't think a good portion of people who come to the park these days care what they hear. They just want to go to a game.

Plus, this thread quickly turned into why she's not with the Sox anymore and no one has answered my original question. Anyone have an answer?

"Our surveys say otherwise."

Brooks Boyers will say that, but I think it's pretty clear that he's a complete failure at his job as attendance has plummeted year after year with him heading marketing. If any of us had a job performance with his trajectory, we would have been canned a long time ago. As a marketing exec, he's clueless.

Thanks for the surveys, but I prefer to wipe my ass with something quilted and two-ply.

It never ceases to amaze me what little things Sox fans can find to bitch about.

People are going to bitch about any given thing on any given day... such is life.

Should check your stats, he started in 2004. You may not like him but he is not the cause of all things (bad and good). Here is the attendance since he started. It was actually up for the first few years.

Year Total Average
2013 1,276,216 22,790
2012 1,965,955 24,271
2011 2,001,117 24,705
2010 2,194,378 27,091
2009 2,284,163 28,200
2008 2,500,648 30,496
2007 2,684,395 33,141
2006 2,957,414 36,511
2005 2,342,833 28,924
2004 1,930,537 23,834
2003 1,939,524 23,945

I'm counting 7 straight years of decline. If that were my job performance, I'd be **** canned.

I know, but I'm really getting tired of people on here acting like the Sox should just run their business off the opinions of whatever they think should be done. No matter how insignificant or minor it is.

The whole "My churro was cold! Brooks should be fired for this immediately!!" attitude of people really drives me nuts.

That said, fans questioning the marketing and hospitality departments is fine, especially when they have had a number of subpar experiences. It's the of how of that criticism, and not the why, that I agree with you on.

I don't disagree that you can question, but it gets pretty ridiculous what some people choose to question or complain about.
