Yawn. Just another typical 2013 White Sox game. No different from the others.......

"OK, we won a game [today]. If we win [tomorrow], it's called "two in a row". And if we win again [Wednesday], it's called a "winning streak"..."

I am about 50 minutes from making the real quote work, so I had to adjust it.

The spotlight was on the Sox tonight. They shined in it.

EIGHT runs. In one game! That's like two weeks worth at one time!

Not to mention four consecutive singles in one inning. Usually its one single in four consecutive innings.

The legs might be a bit stiff, but the banana can still dance.

Damn, the Yankees suck.

I don't understand how they can field such a lousy team. Or how they're somehow above .500.

Who knew a national controversy would motivate the Sox to play their best game of the year?

They're not very good, but some of their old crappy guys like Lyle Overbay and Vernon Wells had hot streaks earlier in the season. Wells, BTW, played 1B last night.

Yeah, looks like their high water mark for the season was May 25, when they were 30-18. Since then they've gone 27-36, 3rd worst mark in the AL ahead of only the Astros and, of course, the Sox.

Kind of coincidentally, May 25th was the Saturday of the Sox/Marlins series that the Sox swept and ended up at .500 before tanking. Kind of weird both teams have had a similar arc to their seasons, the Sox just being worse in both parts. :(:

Wells, BTW, played 1B last night.

Saved A-Rod at least 1, maybe 2, errors with some nice plays at first.

Though, had a huge brain fart on a play in the 5th; Alexei lead off the inning with a ground ball to Cano and Wells instinctively broke toward the ball and not the bag and by the time he realized where he needed to be on the play, there was no one covering first. Easy infield single.
