The pitcher Brazilian Andre Rienzo, after excellent performances in Triple A, was called to join the cast of the Chicago White Sox.

Could this mean Peavy is about to be traded?

Robin Ventura said he's planning for Jake Peavy to pitch Tues. Said #WhiteSox (https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN/status/361953255275757569) need a contingency in case of a trade, won't get caught short.

RV says there are contingency plans for Tuesday besides Axelrod if Peavy isn't with Sox. Charlotte off tuesday, but Rienzo a possibility

Liked his stuff in the AFL and Futures game. Ultimately, I think he's yet another long reliever but it's nice to have a decent emergency starter waiting on the farm.

Oh brother, the Sox are seriously going to pitch Peavy on Tuesday less than 24 hrs from the deadline? Push him back a day.

Rienzo had responded to the rumor on Twitter with the following message in the last half hour. However, it was removed now.

#WhiteSox (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23WhiteSox&src=hash) have a contingency in place if they were to trade Jake Peavy: Andre Rienzo is in Cleveland..

If Peavy pitches another great game on Tuesday, then his trade value shoots up and on top of that, the team has a better chance of trading him. Pushing him back another day would do the Sox no good.

Was going to say this has to be a contingency.

And if he gets hurt/shelled?

False, Every game Peavy pitches for the Sox is one less game he pitches for his new team. Nothing he does tomorrow will impact his value, they do not look for stats. They look for velocity, movement, endurance and health. His value is what it is, and the only thing he can do to hurt it is get hurt, or be able to play less games.

Is it worth using an option late in July just in case for a deep six team?

He isn't on the team, no option was used.

If Peavy took 6 suitcases to Cleveland, who paid the extra fee for the luggage??? Hopefully he gets reimbursed if there is no trade. Damn that is a lot of clothes but I guess he had to plan for all kinds of weather.

I think he checked one in and tried to stuff the other five in overhead and next to his feet.

A White Sox lineup card Rienzo will keep forever.
