With the way Hudson was covering the base, Young is fortunate he didn't hurt himself as well.

Does this put the braves in the peavy discussion?

Hopefully. Jake's county boy act would play much better down there, especially when he goes back on the DL.

One man's misfortune...

Seriously sucks for Tim and the Braves, though. One of my favorite pitchers/guys and teams in the game. I'd love to help them out, and Jake does fit very well. Not to prey on a team's misfortune, but I hope they called up Hahn in desperation. Them's the breaks.

Hudson is 38 years old and will be an FA at the end of this season; gotta wonder if he's done for

Hudson was having a lousy year, and Beachy is coming back next week; they should be fine.

He had a Lousy May, with a 7+ ERA that month. Otherwise he has been really good.
April 3.86
June 2.45
July 3.10

And there is no guarantee Beachy is going to be Beachy just coming back from TJS. I saw rumors they were interested in starters even before Hudson went down.

Peavy's price just went up.

Yeah, that 1.188 WHIP in 131 IP is lousy for a staring pitcher.

I know it's wrong, but my first thought when I saw this was "Peavy to Atl."

I'm not sure it's an act considering he's from Alabama.

Peavy is way too expensive for Atlanta; they simply don't have the prospects to get this deal done. Unless they're talking about moving someone from their major league roster -- which I doubt -- this isn't happening.
